Kolkata: Kolkata Police on Sunday raided several places, including a 10th floor condo apartment, at Nayabad off EM Bypass and arrested two persons with MDMA party pills and Ecstasy drugs, along with cocaine and ganja.
The cops claim the drugs had been brought to Kolkata to be supplied to various parties. “Acting on a tip-off, about possession of huge quantity of drugs and psychotropic substances, a raid was conducted by a team of narcotic cell, DD, at a flat in a Nayabad condo. We arrested one Md Parvez Khan alias Micky (27) on Sunday for illegal and conscious concealment of MDMA amounting to 13.5 grams, MDMA (Ecstasy) of 1.6 grams, cocaine worth 5.6 grams and ganja worth 1.9 grams were recovered and seized from inside a room of the flat where Mickey was staying. Subsequently a case was registered at Panchashayar police station,” said joint CP (crime & traffic) Rupesh Kumar.
In the other raid, a second team of narcotic cell reached in front of a department store under Survey Park police station off EM Bypass and a youth, Prosenjit Roy alias Arghyo (31), a resident of Liluah, was arrested.
“We arrested Arghyo during illegal transportation of three MDMA pills weighing about 1.41grams ( medium quantity), which were seized from his possession. Accordingly a case was registered at Survey Park PS under sections 22(b)/29 of NDPS Act,” said joint CP Kumar.
