Coronavirus: Matt Hancock optimistic on rapid-result tests and vaccine – video

Matt Hancock has said he will consider Sir John Bell’s proposal that people asked to self-isolate should be given lateral flow tests when he was pushed on the issue by Jeremy Hunt, chair of the Commons health committee.

Hancock was optimistic about the prospect of a Covid-19 vaccine, of which the UK has already secured 40m doses, and revealed the NHS will be ready for rollout next month, but only if the vaccine was given the green light
