A COVID cluster has broken out at a special education school in Sydney’s lower North Shore.

There have been 18 cases linked to Giant Steps Sydney including three staff, seven students and eight family members.

The school, in Gladesville, educates around 80 children, from kindergarteners to young adults, with severe disabilities.

Families were notified of the first cases on August 5, and the school has since closed and all students and employees have been sent into isolation.
