“Demand for data centre infrastructure in India continues to accelerate, driven by hyperscale expansion, strong domestic cloud growth and emerging [artificial intelligence] demand,” said Max Biagosch, senior managing director and global head of real assets at CPP Investments, in a press release. “This partnership with CtrlS positions us to scale high‑quality infrastructure and deliver long‑term value for CPP contributors and beneficiaries.”
In other news, a subsidiary of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec is participating in a private agreement for the repurchase for cancellation of one million subordinate voting and variable subordinate voting shares of media company Stingray, held by the investment organization at a price of $15.40 per share for a total consideration of $15.4 million.
Stingray’s cash repurchase agreement carries a 5.1 per cent discount to the closing price on June 18. The Caisse will also sell 2.3 million shares of Stingray, roughly 4.2 per cent of the company’s issued and outstanding subordinate voting and variable subordinate voting shares.
Despite the transactions, the Caisse will remain a significant shareholder in the company. The transaction allows it to monetize a portion of the stake and the capital generated may be invested in Quebec-based companies, said Kim Thomassin, executive vice-president and head of Québec at the Caisse, in a press release.
