Speaking about the WHO’s smallpox eradication program visiting a billion homes in India, the British comedian citing the importance of “pounding the pavement.” This led to his mention of Chrishell Stause’s realtor work on Selling Sunset, as well as her feet pounding the dance floor on Dancing with the Stars. He then announced his support of #TeamChrishell.

Stause took notice of Oliver’s support, no matter how cheeky it may have been, and posted it on her Instagram page.

Chrishell also claimed she’s always been #TeamOliver. Will she make an appearance on his HBO show? Will Oliver make a surprise appearance on Dancing with the Stars this season, or perhaps Netflix’s Selling Sunset?

It may be unlikely, but fans of both were happy of the show business worlds aligning. As one Reddit user wrote: “Two of my favorite things John Oliver and Selling Sunset I love it.”

As for her part during the night’s competition, Stause performed well. However, if she wants to take home the mirrorball trophy and be declared the winner of the season, she has to overcome some stiff competition. In episode 6, Stause and partner Gleb Savchenko scored three 8’s for a 27 out of 30. They had a hard act to follow, though. Backstreet Boys member AJ McLean and Cheryl Burke performed an exciting samba to “Mi Gente” by J Balvin and Willy William that wowed the judges and moved them to award them three 9’s. The Bachelorette alumni Kaitlyn Bristowe and actress Justina Machado (Six Feet Under, One Day at a Time) also both scored three 9’s each with their respective partners.

Even still, Stause likely had the biggest emotional moment. While discussing the death of her parents, both of whom passed away from lung cancer–her father in 2019 and her mother just this past July, she became justifiably teary. She and Savchenko then performed a suitably understated and graceful contemporary dance to “Stars” by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, a song she said she listened to repeat after losing her parents. It was more than enough to keep her in the running for another week.
