India reported an increase of 3,089 in active coronavirus cases to take its count to 53,637. The country is thirty-second among the most affected countries globally by active cases. On June 15, it added 8,822 cases to take its total caseload to 43,245,517. And, with 15 new fatalities, its Covid-19 death toll reached 524,792, or 1.21 per cent of total confirmed infections.
With 1,358,607 more Covid-19 vaccine doses being administered on June 14, India’s total count of vaccine shots so far reached 1,955,087,271. The count of recovered coronavirus cases across India, meanwhile, reached 42,667,088 — or 98.66 per cent of total caseload — with 5,718 new cured cases being reported on June 15.
