Deadly Flooding Hits South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal


Residents surveyed the beachfront in Margate, South Africa, on Monday, April 15, after local media reported that at least five people died in heavy flooding.

Footage recorded by Stephen Herbst shows damage to the promenade near Margate Beach Club.

Herbst said efforts were underway to clean and restore the beach.

Local media citing officials said five people had been killed in the flooding, which started on Sunday evening.
