Delhi resident loses Rs 18,000 after getting drunk as man drives away

A Delhi man lost Rs 18,000 after getting drunk with a man who then drove off with the whistleblower’s car along with his laptop and phone in Gurgaon on Friday night.

An official said the car was recovered along with a laptop and a phone alongside a road which is in the area of ​​the Sector 65 police station. “We are searching for the accused as the cash has not yet been recovered. The car is now at the police station, ”he added.

Amit Prakash, a Greater Kailash 2 resident, had come to work and then went to the Lakeforest wine shop, Golf Course Road in Sector 65. He claims in the complaint that he bought a bottle of alcohol for Rs 20,000 instead of Rs 2,000 , but the merchant returned Rs 18,000 in cash. While he was sitting in his car drinking, a man asked if he could join the complainant and they let him into the car. “We both started drinking and drove to Subhash Chowk. He asked me to get out, and forgetting that it was my own car, I got out, leaving my money, laptop, phone in the car. The man left with all the items,” the complaint says.

Prakash then took a car which dropped him off at the Huda City Center metro station. He later returned home and realized what had happened much later. The police said that the complainant had gone to his house and only the next day did he file a complaint.

The police said a FIR TREE he was registered under IPC section 379 at the sector 65 police station in Gurgaon.

“No arrest has been made as of this time as the car has been recovered. The author has also been unable to recall the sequence of events. We are looking into the matter,” said Subhash Boken, a police spokesman.
