Did the ‘king of amapiano’ Kabza De Small secretly get married?

True Love reports that DJ Kabelo Petrus Motha, popularly known by his stage name Kabza De Small, got hitched last month and has kept it under wraps. 

KABZA DE SMALL PAYS LOBOLA

According to a report from True Love, Kabza De Small paid lobola for his long term girlfriend Kamogelo Geloo Moropa. The publication also reported that the pair have already tied the knot.

“He went to pay lobola for Kamo and they are both keeping it under wraps. Kabza is wearing isiphandla to show that he’s taken,” said a source to the publication. 

According to Opera News Isiphandla is an animal wristband which serves as a connection to ancestors. Research on Zulu society and culture by Buthelezi FNS states —  isiphandla is tied on the right hand of a woman to symbolise that she now belongs to a new clan. 

“My informant Xolisile Ziqubu told me that if a beast or goat was slaughtered for a married woman by her in-laws, she would wear the gallbladder (isiphandla) on the right hand because by marriage she belonged to the new clan; she has been incorporated to the ancestors of her husband. It is the gallbladder of the beast slaughtered by her people that will be worn on the left hand, because she no (longer) belongs to them,” wrote Buthelezi.

The source says that the DJ has been wearing isiphandla since the end of September. According to the publication the pair have been together for some time now. 

“They have been dating – on and off – for some time now. He even dated someone else, but that didn’t work out because he loves Kamo,” the source continued.

WHY DID KABZA DE SMALL NOT POST HIS WIFE AS YET?

The source said that Kabza De Small has not yet posted his wife because they have agreed on this. While his wife, who has a private Instagram account has reportedly posted him.

“He has been wearing two iziphandla on his wrists since the end of last month. He is not posting his wife because that’s something they agreed on. Kamo, on the other hand, posted a picture of herself in traditional attire and tagged him,” said the source. 

Kabza De Small was also reportedly advised to keep the marriage under wraps.

“He wants to keep this under wraps and this is the advice he got from his family. Kamo has also always kept a low profile and because of the pressure that comes with being in the public eye, the couple has decided to keep this private,” continued the source.

A white wedding is set to follow. 

“They are going to have a white wedding but I can’t say much right now because I’m not even supposed to be talking to you,” added the source.
