The Darul Uloom, Deoband, has issued a notice, ordering his students not to get any further education, including English and other subjects, while they continue their education at the Islamic seminary.
The institute has said that it only instructed students that while studying at the seminary, they should not study outside, as the curriculum requires their full attention and time and “they will not be able to succeed in their curriculum if they pursue other subjects outside of it.” of the seminary”. institute”. Darul Uloom Deoband is in the Saharanpur district of UP and is a leading Islamic seminary.
A notice from the Darul Uloom Deoband Education department stated: “Students are informed that while studying at Darul Uloom Deoband, they will not be allowed to get any further education (English etc.). And if any student is found to be involved in this act or if it is known through credible sources that a student is receiving additional education, then that student will be expelled.”
In a statement, Arshad Madani, director of Darul Uloom Deoband, said: “Our course and our books do not allow us to study other things with him. Because what we teach in six hours, if a student doesn’t study it at night, then he can’t be successful. Therefore, we have said that after completing your education here, you can become a doctor, an engineer, a lawyer. Or whatever you want. But while you study here, you are not allowed to study anything while you study here.” Madani is also the President Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind.
Sufiyan Nizami, spokesperson for Darul Uloom Firangi Mahal, which is a seminary based in good luck now, said: “Darul Uloom, Deoband, has been wrongly reported to have passed an expulsion order for students studying English. This is bad.”
“Every institute has a rule that students follow the curriculum. Nowhere is a student allowed to acquire education in a different institute. This is what Darul Uloom, Deoband has said,” she added.
Chairman of the Board of Uttar Pradesh Madarsa and BJP Leader Iftikhar Ahmed Javed said that “if any educational institute has passed an order banning students from studying English, it is wrong.”
“I’m not sure what the order is. But if some educational institute is forbidding students to study English, it is wrong. The world has moved at a fast pace and Muslim students need to move too. For them to join the mainstream, it is important that they study English and other languages. Only then will their education be complete,” Javed said.
