The US Director of the National Counterterrorism has resigned, citing major disagreements with President Donald Trump’s war with Iran.
Joe Kent, a key Maga ally, piled the blame on the conflict with Iran on “Israel and its powerful American lobby”.
“I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby,” he wrote on X.
He added it had been an “honour” serving under President Trump.
