donald trumpattempts to revise history on wednesday CNN the city council took a scandalous turn when he denied pressuring a Georgia election official to “find” votes for him. (Look the following video).
The former president, who sought to annul the results of the 2020 election in that swing state to reinforce his lie that his defeat was rigged, was recorded on tape telling Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger in January 2021: “I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have because we won the state and turning the state around is a great testament to our country.”
When CNN host kaitlan collins suggested charges would be filed over Trump’s alleged heavy-handedness in the Georgia election, Trump said he disputed the election and insisted the call was “normal” and “perfect.”
“You asked him to search for your votes,” Collins said.
“I didn’t ask him to find anything,” Trump said.
Collins: “We have listened to the audiotape, Mr. President. There is an audio of you asking him to find you 11,000 and so many votes.
Trump: “I said you owe me votes because the election was rigged. That election was rigged. And if this call was bad, why didn’t he and his lawyers hang up? how dare you say that ‘ This was a perfect phone call.
Trump continued to dodge, and Collins reminded him that there was no evidence of voter fraud in Georgia.
Trump, the Republican favorite for 2024, spent the night reviewing their falsehoods about the 2020 election and his role in fomenting a violent attempt to overturn his defeat at the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
The former president was recently accused of bribing a porn star with money and found liable in a lawsuit for sexually assaulting a woman in a department store. In addition to the criminal investigation in Georgia, the US attorney general is investigating Trump for the insurrection and mishandling of classified documents that led to Mar-a-Lago.
