(CNN) – You may not need to throw out your expired COVID home tests just yet.
The Food and Drug Administration is encouraging people to check its website for extensions before possibly throwing away perfectly good tests as they near their expiration dates.
The latest round of free test orders has been going on for only a month but some people have reported some tests are nearing their expiration date.
This is the seventh round of free rapid antigen tests from the federal government.
The FDA says the expiration date is the date through which the test is expected to perform as accurately as when manufactured.
