Dramatic video seems to indicate a $65 million Russian Black Sea Fleet patrol ship getting hit by Ukrainian drones in a single day — sending clouds of particles into the air earlier than it sinks.
The Sergey Kotov, a big patrol vessel carrying a helicopter, was destroyed off occupied Crimea in a single day by Magura V5 unmanned vessels, based on Ukraine’s navy intelligence company.
Grainy, black-and-white footage shared by Ukraine’s navy Tuesday confirmed the ship patrolling the waters and out of the blue being struck a minimum of twice earlier than slipping under the floor.
“One other dangerous day for the Russian Black Sea Fleet,” the Protection of Ukraine wrote alongside the video.
The Sergey Kotov — which reportedly might carry cruise missiles and round 60 crew members — was hit close to the Kerch Strait.
The strike broken the strict and the starboard and port sides, based on Ukraine, which estimated the injury at a minimum of $65 million.
“Proper now this ship is on the seabed because of hearth injury by unmanned boats,” navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk stated in televised feedback.
Russian authorities didn’t verify the report, which couldn’t be independently verified.
The Magura V5s are made in Ukraine and are crammed with explosives.
Whereas the vast majority of the combating continues alongside the 930-mile entrance line, Ukraine’s success in opposition to Russian warships within the Black Sea has pushed the latter away from the shoreline and allowed Ukraine to arrange a grain export hall.
Final month, Ukraine claimed it sank two different Russian warships with drones, together with a missile-armed corvette and a touchdown ship.
Russian officers didn’t verify these studies, both.
