A car crashed into a historic Manhasset building and burst into flames early Thursday, killing the driver, authorities said.

Around 5:41 a.m., fire officials received a 911 call reporting a motor vehicle that crashed into the Society of Friends Meeting House at 1421 Northern Blvd.

The Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department arrived to find a car crashed into the building and its foundation on fire.

The driver, the only occupant of the car, was found dead at the scene; the victim was not immediately identified, fire officials said.

The Port Washington, Plandome and Great Neck fire departments also assisted. Fire officials said the building suffered significant damage.
