A COVID-19 checkpoint in outer Melbourne led to a bust of a ‘large quantity’ of illegal drugs.
Victoria Police said a female driver and a male passenger were busted on Friday morning with significant amounts of methylamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, prescription drugs and drug paraphernalia.
They attempted to evade a checkpoint at Lang Lang in Cardinia Shire with their stash but were caught out by police.

After being pulled over, the female driver allegedly returned a positive oral drug test.
A male passenger was also detected to be affected by drugs and a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of the illicit haul.
The female driver and her male passenger have both been charged with various drug possession and trafficking offences as well as breach of Chief Health Officer directions.
The pair have been remanded to appear before a court at a later date.
