Duquesne Light reports over 10K without power as extreme heat, storms roll through area

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, Pa. —

Over 10,000 people in Allegheny County remain without power, as temperatures reach above 90 degrees and potential storms are expected to roll through the area on Wednesday.

According to Duquesne Light Company’s website, 10,617 customers in Allegheny County remained without power as of 6 p.m.

Many of the outages appeared to be reported in Bellevue, Avalon, Ben Avon, Emsworth, Ohio Township, Ross Township, and McCandless. Multiple other areas are included.

DLC said on its website the outage was due to a substation issue.

Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 has reached out to the power company for further details.
