E. Jean Carroll considering suing Trump again in wake of CNN town hall: lawyer

Former president donald trumpThe “crazy job” comments from – and others – about E.Jean Carroll may lead to another defamation lawsuit as his lawyer revealed that “everything is on the table” following a CNN town hall event that has been criticized by media figures both inside and outside of the network

carroll spoke to The New York Times on Thursday after a Manhattan jury found Trump liable for sexual abuse and defamation and asked him to pay $5 million in damages.

Trump, in his appearance at town hall, claimed he had no idea “who the hell she is” as he rambled and claimed he had a “false” “made up story” – comments that led her to tell The Times that she’s been ” insulted by better people.”

“It’s just stupid, it’s disgusting, it’s vile, it’s disgusting, it hurts people,” said Carroll, who alleged Trump raped her in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room in the 1990s.

Trump, who turned down the opportunity to testify at trial and later claimed he was being “unconstitutionallysilenced, allegedly filed a notice of appeal the verdict in the case on Thursday.

Roberta Kaplan, Carroll’s lawyer, revealed to The Times that her legal team has considered filing another defamation lawsuit.

“Everything is on the table, obviously, and we have to seriously consider it,” Kaplan said.

Carroll, who apart from the case that concluded this week, had separately sued Trump for defamation in a case still pending.

Carroll, who said she was excited by the recent verdict, told The Times that she has been “upset” ever since after hearing her stylist talk about her teenage son commenting on Trump’s town hall.

“I am upset on behalf of young men in America,” Carroll said.

“They can’t listen to this nonsense and outdated view of women, which is a caveman view.”
