EA splits “EA Entertainment” and “EA Sports” in massive company restructuring

Industry giant Electronic Arts today announced a major restructuring that splits its studios into two main organizations: EA Entertainment and EA Sports.

As CEO Andrew Wilson explained, this “evolution” allows the company to give studio leaders more power, including “creative ownership and financial responsibility to make faster, more insightful decisions” on development and other related areas. .

EA Entertainment will be led by President Laura Miele, who will oversee many of EA’s key studios. Vince Zampella will lead the studios responsible for apex legendsStar Wars games and Battlefield IP, Samantha Ryan is in charge of the solo blockbuster and lifestyle franchises, and Jeff Karp heads the mobile division.

The president of EA Sports is Cam Weber, who is responsible for managing the entire sports games portfolio of the organization. Other appointments include Stuart Canfield as Chief Financial Officer and David Tinson as Chief Experience Officer, focused on developing and scaling EA’s services.

Both EA Entertainment and EA Sports will report to the company’s CEO, chief personnel officer, and legal officer.

Andrew Wilson also mentioned that EA’s business “remains strong” and that the company is excited to bring “more amazing games and experiences” to more people around the world in the future.
