Ed Davey pledges to set UK on path again to the EU

Sir Ed Davey has pledged to set the UK “on the trail again to the Single Market” and again “on the coronary heart of Europe”.

The Liberal Democrat chief advised members that being on the centre of Europe was “the place we belong”, as he pledged to rebuild the nation’s relationship with the European Union.

Talking on the shut of the Liberal Democrat convention in York, he advised members: “Solely Liberal Democrats have a transparent plan to rebuild this relationship with a greater deal for Britain.

“To resume the ties of belief and friendship, to set us on the trail again to the Single Market – our plan to restore the injury the Conservatives have completed.”
