Lahore:

In a startling comment, Pakistani Home Minister Rana Sanaullah branded ousted Prime Minister Imran Khan an “enemy” of the ruling PML-N and said he has brought the country’s politics to a point where “he (Imran ) will be killed or us”.

The remarks by the senior leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N), which is very close to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, sparked an outcry among political circles, especially in Pakistan’s Imran Khan’s Tehreek-i-Insaf .

Imran Khan, after surviving a gun attack during a rally in Wazirabad, Punjab, in November last year, named Rana Sanaullah behind the assassination attempt on him. Imran Khan, 70, also named Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and a senior ISI official in an FIR request for his role in the assassination plot.

In an interview with a couple of private TV channels on Sunday, Sanaullah said: “Either Imran Khan or we will be killed. Now he has brought the country’s politics to a point where only one of the two can remain: PTI or PMLN “. The entire existence of the PMLN is in danger and we will go against it to settle accounts with it. Imran Khan has turned politics into enmity. Imran Khan is now our enemy and he will be treated like this,” Sanaullah stated.

Asked if such comments could result in lawlessness in Pakistan, the minister said: “Anarchy already prevails in Pakistan.” Reacting strongly to Rana Sanaullah’s statement, PTI leader and former federal information minister Fawad Chaudhry said: “This is a direct threat to Imran Khan’s life from the PMLN coalition government.” “Is Sanaullah running a gang or a government? The Supreme Court had rightly declared the PMLN led by Sharifs to be a Sicilian mafia and his statement is proof of that,” he said.

The PTI has also urged the SC to take note of this as it is an open threat to Imran Khan’s life.

“If anyone has any doubts about Rana Sanaullah’s murderous intent towards Imran Khan. This is a direct threat given by the home minister of the robber cabal. The judiciary should take note,” the top leader of the gang said in a tweet. PTI and former minister Shireen Mazari.

The PTI said it had never in the past witnessed a ruling party openly declaring the removal of a popular Pakistani leader.
