(VOVWORLD) -The European Union (EU) became Vietnam’s largest coffee consuming market in the first half of 2024, accounting for nearly 40% of the export market share with a volume of over 353,000 tons and value of more than 1.2 billion USD, said the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
Vietnam has now surpassed India, Switzerland, and Brazil to be the second largest supplier of processed coffee (instant coffee, coffee mixtures) to the EU, only after the UK.
Vietnam’s export turnover of instant coffee and coffee extracts to the EU in the first five months of the year increased 86% over the same period last year, to 64.5 million euros.
