Former Rep. David Jolly (R-Fla.) mentioned the election of Rep. Mike Johnson (R-La.) as Home speaker isn’t a change in course however somewhat “one foot in entrance of the opposite for the Republican convention.”

Johnson, an evangelical Christian with excessive views on reproductive rights, LGBTQ+ freedoms and different social points, is now second in line to the presidency after Home Republicans unanimously elected him speaker on Wednesday.
Johnson was elected following weeks of turmoil and infighting because the convention struggled to unite behind a frontrunner to interchange Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), who was ousted earlier this month in a Republican coup.
