After working together on Veere Di Wedding in 2018, Rhea Kapoor and Ektaa Kapoor recently reunited to The gang which is headed by kareena kapoor khan, Tabu and Kriti Sanon. The film was officially announced in November last year, and the filmmakers have already shot a major part of this directorial Rajesh Krishnan. While they’re busy with this upcoming project, we’ve heard that producers Rhea and Ektaa have already started talking about their next collaboration, which is none other than the sequel to Veere Di Wedding.
The first part featured Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania in the lead. “Veere Di Wedding is a very special project for the creators, and they have already launched the sequel. So Veere Di Wedding 2 is definitely being made, and the idea and concept have already locked down. However, the script is still being written and the final draft should be ready in a few months. Once this is done, they will begin to discuss casting and other logistics. The film will be shot next year”, reports a source close to the development.

In an earlier chat with Pinkvilla, Rhea Kapoor opened up about Veere Di Wedding, saying she didn’t expect the film to do the numbers it did at the box office. She had added that it was the biggest opening for a female lead film so far. “When that happened I felt really good, because it was like people underestimated the strength of the female audience, which is very loyal. They watch movies over and over again. That’s when I decided I wouldn’t rush into anything predictable. I’m going to go and do things the way I’ve always done them, but all I’m going to do is justify the potential strength of this audience,” Rhea said.
