Meta is hosting ‘Instagram IRL’ on Dover Street Market’s 3537 space in Paris. Instagram IRL, which stands for “In Real Life,” will be a week-long event where content creators, professionals in the fashion industry, and media personalities will meet to network with each other and discuss the industry.
Instagram IRL is being hosted in celebration of ‘Paris Men’s Fashion Week,’ though this event will encompass a wide array of fashion outside of just men’s fashion. This event will help uplift smaller creators through partnerships, connections, and advertising. One purpose of Instagram IRL is to showcase the legitimacy of the image-sharing platform in its ability to host careers for content creators. Many content creators have been vocal about the difficulty in growing a fanbase on Instagram in comparison to other content creator-based platforms, such as TikTok or YouTube.
