Federal ministers continue attacking affidavit ‘signed in Nawaz’s office’

| Sh Rashid offers visa, ticket to PML-N leader for homecoming | Fawad wonders ‘how Sicilian mafia is capable of blackmailing institutions’ | Rana Shamim’s affidavit was prepared in presence of Nawaz: Farrukh

KARACHI/ISLAMABAD   -  Federal Ministers including Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Fawad Hussain Chaudhry, Farrukh Habib and PM’s Advisor on Accountability Shahzad Akbar on Sunday came down hard on the PML-N leader, Nawaz Sharif, for getting signed an affidavit from ex-GB chief judge Rana Shamim against former chief justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar in London office.

Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad said that he was ready to issue a visa and a ticket to PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif for his return to the country. He said that Nawaz Sharif had not consulted any doctor and he was healthy. The minister expressed these views while addressing a press conference at a local hotel in Karachi on Sunday.

The Interior minister said that PML-N leader merely issued statements against the institutions. He said that these statements would not make any difference and Prime Minister Imran Khan is not going anywhere.

Sheikh Rashid alleged that the highest number of corruption cases in the world were against Shehbaz Sharif, adding that Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari are the most corrupt persons of this country.

Replying to a question on MQM’s former chief, the minister said that talks with him could not be held.

Later, he also congratulated the PTI-led federal government for launching the Green line bus service for the people of Karachi.

Sheikh Rashid Ahmed also said the recent OIC conference in Islamabad remained successful under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan. Also, he expressed regret that Muslims of India are not free to perform their religious obligations due to extremists’ policies being pursued by Modi-led regime. Replying to a question, the minister made it clear that civil and military leadership are enjoying good relations, which is healthy sign for country’s development.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said that former chief judge of Gilgit-Baltistan Rana Shamim signed an affidavit against former chief justice of Pakistan in the office of Nawaz Sharif. In a tweet on Sunday, the Information Minister said Rana Shamim tried to blackmail former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar and honorable sitting judges of the Islamabad High Court.

He said new revelations have once again proved that how Sicilian mafia is capable of blackmailing institutions including the courts.

Advisor to Prime Minister on Accountability Shahzad Akbar on Sunday said that Sharif family premeditated attack on judiciary to hamper and influence proceedings.

Shahzad Akbar, in a tweet, said that it has also been revealed that Nawaz Sharif had Rana Shamim signed the shady affidavit in his presence in office. He further said that the big question now is who gave the questionable affidavit to the journalist as Rana Shamim said that it was in a safe.

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib said on Sunday that Rana Shamim was an official of PML-N lawyers’ wing and his son has admitted this on a television channel.

In a tweet he said that it was a great revelation now that Nawaz Sharif got the affidavit written in his presence to attack the judiciary. Farrukh remarked that this was the reason Nawaz Sharif was called godfather of the Sicilian mafia.

Reportedly, Rana Shamim, former GB chief judge took the oath and signed the affidavit in the office of Mian Nawaz Sharif and tried to incriminate former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar and honourable sitting judges of the Islamabad High Court.

The affidavit accuses the former top judge of trying to coerce a judgment from a sitting Islamabad High Court judge against the ousted Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif and his daughter, Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
