Fire damages India Mahal restaurant in Havelock

HAVELOCK, N.C. — Crews responded to a fire at India Mahal restaurant, located at 700 E. Main St. in Havelock, around 5 a.m. Monday, August 24.

Officials say there were no reported injuries, but the restaurant sustained significant damage.

Photos and video from the scene show emergency personnel outside the restaurant and visible damage to the building.

Firefighters were expected to remain at the scene until around 9 a.m. as they continued their work.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time. More information is expected to be released later.
