Five cops remanded in encounter case | The Express Tribune

GUJRANWALA:

A court has handed over police personnel involved in an encounter in Kasur to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on five-day physical remand.

The FIA presented the arrested former SHO Hassan Imran, check post in-charge Tariq Mahmood, Sub-Inspector Muhammad Sadiq and Constables Muhammad Ishtiaq and Yaqub in the court of Senior Civil Judge Ehsan Sabir.

The investigation officer requested their 14-day physical. The court, while handing over the personnel to the FIA on physical remand, also ordered their medical examination.

A murder case has been registered against them under the Torture and Custodial Death Act.

The case had been transferred to the Gujranwala FIA in April.
