‘Flamin’ Scorching’ Doritos and Cheetos seasoning sparks office security grievance in Australia

Staff at a crisp manufacturing facility in Australia have complained {that a} sizzling and spicy seasoning is affecting their well being.

UWU mentioned it spoke to 13 employees throughout one shift final week and 11 reported adverse results from the seasoning.

In its grievance to SafeWork SA, the UWU mentioned: “After interviewing 13 employees from the afternoon shift, 11 reported varied results, together with sneezing, coughing, eye and pores and skin irritation, runny nostril, sore throat, chest discomfort, and issue respiration.”

The UWU mentioned the seasoning machine is used for the new product “each couple of weeks”, with the ingredient “dispersing throughout the manufacturing space”.

The Doritos Flamin’ Scorching Cheese Supreme Corn Chips are described as having a “daring tacky style with full flavour and a full-on tooth-rattling crunch”.

The crisps, together with Cheetos Flamin’ Scorching Puffs, function a flame icon on the packaging to warn of their warmth.

PepsiCo mentioned employees security was its “high precedence”.

A spokesperson for the agency added: “We observe a lot of security procedures and protocols when producing merchandise that embody spicy seasoning.

“To additional improve these measures at our Adelaide website there may be obligatory mask-wearing throughout manufacturing of this product and we’re putting in further extraction followers.
