Four killed, including two women in firing over land dispute in K-P’s Baka Khel | The Express Tribune

MIRANSHAH:

Four people, including two women, were killed and two others injured when two rival groups exchanged fire over a land dispute in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s (K-P) Baka Khel on Wednesday.

According to Baka Khel police, the incident took place in a mountainous area within the police jurisdiction, where the two groups confronted each other over a dispute concerning the use of a road, leading to an exchange of gunfire.

Police said three people from one side — two women identified as Ms A and Ms M, and a man identified as Muhammad Azim — were killed in the firing.

A man identified as Nafid was also killed from the other side, while Awal Khan and Majidullah sustained injuries. The injured were shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Sub-Division Wazir Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Hafeez ur Rehman reached the scene along with a police contingent and assessed the situation.

Police said separate cases were registered against the two parties on the complaints of both sides.

The police cordoned off the area and began collecting evidence, while further investigation was under way to determine the exact circumstances of the incident and identify those involved in the firing.

The bodies of the deceased and the injured were shifted to hospital, while legal proceedings were initiated.

Police officials said those found responsible would be dealt with according to the law following completion of the investigation.

In a similar incident in June, four people were killed in a firing incident in the Odeen Kalla area of Domel after a land dispute turned violent. The deceased were identified as Umar Nawaz, his sons Mutiullah and Farmanullah, and their close relative Muhammad Aamir.

According to Rescue 1122, the victims sustained critical injuries and were taken to RHC Domel, where doctors confirmed their deaths. The FIR stated that the complainant, the deceased, and the alleged suspects were close relatives, including brothers and nephews.
