Fourth man sought over alleged Mardi Gras assault of teen girls

Police are seeking a fourth man as they investigate the alleged assault of a up three teenage girls in Sydney on the weekend.

Two 16-year-old girls were allegedly repeatedly bashed by a group of men about 9.40pm on Saturday night after a brawl erupted at Pirrama Park in Pyrmont.

A third girl, also aged 16, has now come forward claiming she was coward punched during the vicious alleged assault.

Police were told the alleged assault followed an argument between the groups.

Police and the Public Order and Riot Squad arrested three men – aged 29, 23 and 21 – when they arrived at Pirrama Road near Murray Street.

The 29-year-old and 23-year-old were both charged with affray and two counts of common assault.

The younger man was charged with affray and common assault.

The men were refused bail and appeared before Parramatta Bail Court yesterday.

They are due to front the Central Local Court tomorrow.

Now police want to speak to a fourth man in relation to the event.

His is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 20s, and was wearing a grey hoodie, dark pants, and blue sneakers.

Mr Fuller slammed the alleged assault this morning, telling 2GB’s Ben Fordham it was “cowardly” and “disgraceful”.

“A cowardly act would be an understatement,” he said.

“I have never seen such disgraceful footage from grown men attacking two young girls.

“Irrespective of what sentence they get, they should be tagged cowards forever.”

Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
