Shocking footage shows French police standing idle doing nothing as hundreds of migrants swarmed boats for Britain this week on the busiest day of the year so far. Footage taken on the French coast showed dozens of migrants in two groups waiting to board two boats in the Channel.
Both boats, already in the water, also had dozens on board, with dozens of others waiting on the coast for the boats to pick them up. And, other footage taken on one of the boats later on its journey across the Channel, showed migrants smiling as the French Navy escorted them across. Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philip has demanded answers from the Home Office and the French police over the clip.
Many of the migrants had life jackets on and looked ready for the boat to pick them up and make the journey for Britain.
But two French police officers could be seen walking on the beach and appeared to do nothing to stop the groups trying to cross.
They could be seen simply walking on the beach and are not trying to stop the crossings, threaten anybody with arrest or calling for back up.

New stats show 605 migrants arrived on the Wednesday – the busiest day so far, taking it over 2,000.
Britain spends tens of millions each year on extra defences and police resources to France to stop the boat crossings.
The clips were posted on a WhatsApp story.
One observer said: “Surely they could have called for back up or actually ran to try and stop it?
“They don’t seem to care. It’s a disgrace it’s allowed to happen so easily. It’s broad daylight, how can that be allowed?”
