Funeral arrangements have been announced for Trevor Julian, a Whitehouse man who was shot and killed in a deadly traffic altercation Friday.

Julian, 29, will be laid to rest Saturday. There will be a visitation at 10 a.m. followed by a public service at 11 a.m. at Central Baptist Church at 220 W. Sabine in Carthage. A private burial with military honors will follow the service, according to an obituary published by Hawthorn Funeral Home.

Julian was born on Nov. 15, 1996 in Dallas to Rebecca Lynn Chandler and Ronny Lloyd Julian. He had two siblings.

In a video message in 2017 posted by the U.S. Marine Corps, Julian’s mother said she was proud of her son. “I’m most proud of my son for his love of God and country,” she said in the archived video,” and for the responsibilities that he has taken on and handled better than any man that I’ve ever known. I’m so proud to be his mama.”

Julian grew up in Carthage, where he graduated from the local high school in 2015. He was active in football and track and often made honor roll, according to previous reporting by the Panola Watchman.

“He was competitive and strived to be the best which led him to serve his country and enlist in the U. S. Marine Corps,” his obituary states. He was a sergeant and was previously stationed in Okinawa, Japan, where he served as an automotive maintenance technician in 2017, according to online records.

Julian worked as a diesel mechanic for Midwest Logistics Systems (MLS), according to his obituary. He “loved working on anything with a motor,” the obituary reads. He also enjoyed woodworking.

His focus had shifted to being a family man. He is survived by parents; his wife, Jessica Julian, of Whitehouse, and his children Grayson Lane and Trevor Lynn Jr., along with Jessica’s children he was adopting, Gunner and Ava Gagne; grandparents Tim and Karen Julian, Mona Tucker, Tommy Chandler and wife Lynn, all of Carthage; his brother, Dylan Julian and wife Nelly, of Carthage; sister Bethany Smith, her husband Brock and their daughter Evette Smith; numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.

Instead of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Prosperity Bank to support Julian’s family.

Dayton Morgan, the man who shot and killed Julian, is in jail on a murder charge and $1 million bond.
