In today’s GB News Daily Reflection, we remember that true communication, honesty, vulnerability, one on one can heal wounds and can put relationships right.
“I want to talk today about how we can have healthy relationships, especially when people do us wrong or they mistreat us or we feel let down. Because in those moments, it can be so tempting to speak behind their back to get the gossip going to go to others before we go to them.
“But you know what? In the Gospels, Jesus gives a teaching that if someone sins against us, we are to go to them. Just the two of us. Me with that person to let them know rather than going to other people would to keep it private. And in so doing, we protect them. We protect their reputation.
“We give them the opportunity to put things right, to say sorry, and it doesn’t flare up and become something so much bigger. Look, gossip can be fun, but it can also be so damaging. It can be destructive for relationships. It can divide families, offices, whole institutions.
“But true communication, honesty, vulnerability, one on one can heal wounds and can put relationships right. So avoid gossip, go to the person you need to speak to.”
