GDA demands PM to clean his party from corrupt members

The leaders of Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) on Friday have expressed anger over the defeat of Pir Sadaruddin Shah Rashdi in recently held Senate elections.

While holding a press conference, the GDA leaders have alleged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers of not voting in the favor of Pir Rashdi. The proofs have been dispatched to Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan to take action, they stated.

The GDA leaders have demanded the premier to clean his party from corrupt members. The PM cannot do anything for the country until he gets rid of ‘black sheeps’ in PTI, they said.

The democratic alliance further claimed that all its 14 members remained loyal to the party in the Senate polls due to which PTI and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) won seats. We are being sacrificed, GDA leader Shehryar Mehar said.

Meanwhile, Nusrat Sehar Abbasi assured to identify those who changed their loyalties in the Senate elections

Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) candidate Yousaf Raza Gillani is likely to become Senate Chairman after opposition alliance secured a six-member lead over incumbent ruling coalition.

The opposition’s PDM gained an upper hand in the 100-member upper house of the Parliament as the number of members of the opposition alliance rose to 53.
