Late pop icon George Michael has been immortalised by the UK’s Royal Mint, showing on a particular commemorative coin.

The Wham! co-founder seems in his signature sun shades with a chorus from his hit music Religion.

The coin’s designer believes it captures his charismatic expression.

George Michael Leisure says it’s “deeply honoured by the tribute”.

They stated George would have been “enormously proud and genuinely touched”.
