“It’s a bit of a shock that, for all the baggage that Donald Trump carries, he’s tied with Joe Biden right now,” Stephanopoulos said on Sunday’s broadcast of “This Week.”
Former Democratic National Committee chairwoman Donna Brazile admitted that “it could keep me up at night.”
The poll, according to the Journal, showed that “Trump had 40% support to Biden’s 39%, with likely Green and Libertarian Party candidates getting a combined 3%. A significant proportion (around 17%) were undecided.
“In a head-to-head test that excluded other candidates, Trump and Biden were tied, with 46% each and 8% undecided, he added.
Trump remains the favorite of the Republican Party by far, despite his growing legal problems and refusal to appear in the first debate of the Republican primaries.
