Give Ukraine help “so long as it takes”, EU chief urges bloc

BRUSSELS, Dec 13 (Reuters) – The European Union’s chief government known as on Wednesday for the bloc to help Ukraine so long as it takes, her remarks forward of a key European leaders’ summit standing in sharp distinction with Hungary’s criticism of giving extra help to Kyiv.

Hungary is crucial of granting Ukraine extra monetary help and has threatened to veto advancing Kyiv’s EU membership bid at a summit of the bloc’s leaders in Brussels on Thursday and Friday.

Ukraine seems to the summit for a constructive sign on its future within the European Union and existential funds help because the nation is more and more exhausted from almost two years of preventing a conflict towards a Russian invasion.

“Because the conflict drags on, we should show what it means to help Ukraine for so long as it takes,” European Fee President, Ursula von der Leyen advised the European Parliament forward of the leaders’ summit.
