GM’s Arlington Meeting Plant in Texas joins UAW strike

The United Auto Staff expanded its ongoing strike Tuesday to one in all Basic Motors most worthwhile factories in North America: Arlington Meeting Plant in Texas.

The union ordered about 5,000 members at that plant to stroll out and be part of the so-called Stand Up Strike at 10 a.m. GM builds its highly-profitable Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, Cadillac Escalade and GMC Yukon massive SUVs at Arlington.

The transfer comes on the day that GM reported its third quarter earnings had taken it hit partially because of the strike. GM stated the strike up to now has had an incremental $600 million hit to its earnings earlier than curiosity and taxes and shifting ahead it estimated the affect of the strike to be about $200 million per week based mostly on the services impacted as of Sunday.
