Govt aims to minimise inflation impact on common man: Farrukh | The Express Tribune

ISLAMABAD:

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib said on Monday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) -led government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, was trying to minimise the impact of global inflation on the common man.

In a conversation with PTV News, the minister claimed that Pakistan was among countries that kept agricultural, industrial and services sectors functional and intact amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Inflation is on a rise globally in the post-coronavirus scenario and every country is dealing with its economy according to its resources,” he added.

Habib assured that the government was committed to controlling inflation and providing immediate relief to the masses, in addition to taking “all possible steps to improve the national economy, which will create employment opportunities in [the] future.”

The minister’s remarks came a day after PM Imran in the fifth session of the ‘Aap Ka Wazir-e-Azam, Aap Kay Saath’ maintained that global inflation and the price hike of commodities, triggered by a sharp disruption in the supply and demand chain because of the Covid-19 pandemic, had affected all the countries of the world alike.
