Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl has been directed by Sharan Sharma.
Janhvi Kapoor starrer Gunjan Saxena The Kargil Girl is set to premiere on Netflix on August 12. And kicking off its promotions, the makers dropped the trailer of the biopic on Saturday. The Sharan Sharma directorial revolves around Gunjan Saxena, India’s first female combat pilot to enter a war zone. Gunjan rescued soldiers during the Kargil War in 1999 and was honoured with the Shaurya Vir award for displaying courage and grit during the war. The film also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Angad Bedi and Vineet Kumar Singh.

The trailer gives a glimpse into the life of Gunjan Saxena and her journey towards becoming an Indian Air Force pilot while fighting all odds.
Gunjan Saxena The Kargil Girl began shooting in Lucknow in February 2019. It was previously scheduled to have a theatrical release on April 24 but owing to the nationwide lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, the makers decided to opt for a digital release.
Jointly produced by Dharma Productions and Zee Studios, Gunjan Saxena The Kargil Girl will release on Netflix on August 12.
