Hamas armed wing: Greater than 60 hostages are lacking as a result of Israeli airstrikes

CAIRO, Nov 4 (Reuters) – The armed wing of Palestinian militant faction Hamas stated on Saturday that greater than 60 hostages have been lacking due to Israeli airstrikes on Gaza.

Late final month, Hamas stated an estimated 50 captives held by the group have been killed in Israeli strikes on Gaza.

Abu Ubaida, the spokesperson for the Izz el-Deen al-Qassam Brigades, stated on Hamas’ telegram account that 23 our bodies of the 60 lacking Israel hostages have been trapped beneath the rubble.

“It appears that we are going to by no means have the ability to attain them as a result of continued brutal aggression of the occupation towards Gaza,” he stated.

Reuters couldn’t instantly confirm the assertion. The Israeli military declined to remark.

The US has been flying surveillance drones over Gaza searching for hostages taken by Hamas when the Palestinian militant group attacked Israel on Oct. 7, two U.S. officers stated on Thursday.

Hamas, an armed Islamist group that governs Gaza, has to this point launched 4 civilians among the many 239 believed to be held.
