Railway police found the headless body of a man on the railway tracks in the Ludhiana district town of Doraha on Sunday. The body was found by the railway personnel on duty and they notified the police.
Police said the deceased’s head was found nearly 50 meters from the body. The unidentified killers were suspected of dumping the body on the road after murdering the man to show it as a suicide.
Sub-Inspector Sukhwinder Singh, who is investigating the case, said they received information that a headless body was lying on the tracks under the bridge in Doraha. They arrived at the scene and launched an investigation.
He said that prima facie the victim was murdered by unidentified assailants in an abandoned room on the railroad tracks located nearby. In order to prove that it was a suicide, they threw the body on the tracks. One case was registered.
