A driver who stopped to help a koala cross a major freeway in Adelaide’s southeast caused a six-car crash and long traffic delays on Monday morning.
When the driver stopped on the South Eastern Freeway to help, he was rear-ended near the Crafers exit.
This led to a chain reaction, with six vehicles being involved in the major crash just after 7am.

Commuters were advised to find an alternative route, as traffic was reduced to two lanes.
Luckily, nobody was seriously injured in the crash.

The furry local sparked a multi-car pile-up before a motorist managed to scoop it up and take it to safety.

The koala at the centre of the crash was rescued from the road and has been taken to safety, back in the wild.
