Horror as huge fire erupts in London with black smoke filling sky

A huge fire has erupted in London as smoke is seen for miles in the south east of the capital. The London Fire Brigade has not confirmed the location of the blaze, but posts on social media say it’s coming from an area between London Bridge and New Cross.

Videos and images posted from Canary Wharf and the Isle of Dogs show the fire raging, with thick dark grey smoke billowing into the air. The fire is believed to be coming from a recycling centre in the Bermondsey/Surrey Quays area, according to multiple reports on social media, though this has not been confirmed by the fire service.
