A paedophile who created an online group chat so he could share child rape videos and fantasies has been jailed. Michael Fox, 55, was caught when an undercover police officer joined the Telegram group, Swansea Crown Court heard. Prosecutor Craig Jones said Fox, of Chestnut Mill, Capel Dewi, near Llandysul in West Wales, distributed three videos showing the rape of girls aged between eight and 11.
Fox went under the usernames of “Foxy” and “Wolf.” The court also heard he made sexual remarks in the group about children he knew.
Mr Jones said: “The defendant would make sexual comments about children he knew, talking about what amazing bodies they had.
“When the police arrived to arrest him, he told them, ‘I’ve been an idiot – I’ve f***** everything up!”
He pleaded guilty to distributing three Category A videos, which is the most serious classification of child sexual abuse material, and he pleaded guilty to distributing one Category B image.
Ian Ibrahim, defending, said Fox had no previous convictions and had lost his good character as a result of the offences. The court heard that Fox was now living in a caravan in a field and was suffering from depression.
Mr Ibrahim said: “There are references which speak very highly of him.
“To say that he is remorseful is an understatement.”
Judge Paul Thomas KC told Fox: “You were distributing the most vile videos on Telegram.
“People somewhere in the world were making these films of young girls, who were aged between eight and 11, suffering the most horrific of experiences for you to masturbate over.
“The harm, both physical and emotional, they would have endured is unspeakable and which would no doubt have a lifelong impact upon them.”
Fox was jailed for two years and four months. He was also made subject to a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and must remain on the sex offenders’ register until 2036.
A victim surcharge must be paid following his release from prison.
