Horror in UK seaside town as choppers race to ‘4 people in difficulty at sea’

A huge emergency response has been launched in Shoreham after four people got into difficulty in the water. Police, the ambulance service, Coastguard, and RNLi were all called to the port this afternoon to reports of an incident in the sea. Dramatic footage has shown emergency services swarming the area with multiple ambulances parked up and an air ambulance circling above.

The A259, which runs alongside the beach, has also been closed while the emergency services carry out their work, and the public has been urged to stay away from the area at this time. Sussex Police said: “Emergency services are currently responding to reports of four people in difficulty in the water close to Shoreham Fort.

“A section of the A259 in Shoreham has been closed as the incident remains ongoing. We’re urging the public to stay clear of the area in the meantime. We will provide more information as soon as we are able to.”
