Huge fire after massive explosion in UK town as fire engines race to scene

A major fire is being tackled at Recycleforce on Gretton Brook Road in Corby this afternoon.

Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to Earlstrees Industrial Estate shortly before 2pm.

Huge plumes of black smoke have been seen rising over the town.

One witness filming near the scene also said “small explosions” could be heard.

There is no access to Gretton Brook Road, with closures also in place at Rockingham Road, Princewood Road, Corby Road and Phoenix Parkway.

Residents nearby have been told to keep their windows and doors shut.
