Google Cloud is facing a major outage as a number of major banking sites, including Revolut and Lloyds, are among those facing signifcant issues.
The Revolut banking app is reportedly down as users say they are having issues with their accounts today. When opening the app, users have reported seeing a “Something went wrong” message, instructing them to “try again later”. Revolut wrote on X: “We are currently experiencing a service disruption affecting multiple features, which may result in some services being inaccessible.
“Our engineering team is actively working to restore full service as quickly as possible. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
The majority of the issues appeared to be because of a problem at Google Cloud, which operates internet infrastructure for a whole range of other services. It is unclear however whether all of the issues are related.
Google confirmed on its service status website that its facilities in western Europe were experiencing issues. It stated that it was “experiencing an issue with multiple services” and apologised to “all who are affected by the disruption”.
