Ian Baraclough has to go, but he shouldn’t be the only one to make an exit at the IFA

I like Ian Baraclough. Decent guy. A few years back he was good enough to fly over from England to play in a Windsor Park charity match I organised and joined in when the banter was flying in the dressing room. He also impressed as the Northern Ireland Under-21 manager and was brilliant to deal with.

ruth be told, he wasn’t my first choice out of the five candidates interviewed to replace Michael O’Neill, but I wasn’t annoyed — or surprised — when he got the gig. I can’t remember many Northern Ireland fans feeling frustrated or fuming at Baraclough being the boss either. Things have changed.
